School Update!

August 11, 2017

Myanzi, Uganda.  A small, rural, community in central Uganda without a local school.  The children in this community have to travel far to receive an education.  Many cannot make the trip.

Fr. Matthias Kakooza has a vision and we have a mission of social justice.  This vision follows his successful building of 3 schools, but this one will follow a slightly different path.   The goal is to build an independent, self-sustaining school for the local community, non-governmental, including Catholics and non-Catholic students.  The end result will provide a secure, tuition-based, quality school for both day and boarding students.

The money raised thus far has allowed Fr. Matthias to secure the land in the community and begin engineering and architectural drawings for the project.  The next step will be to raise the seed money to break ground so material and labor costs will be incurred.  This project will encompass local tradesmen and projected school family members will contribute.
